Services

Individual Therapy

I provide a range of empirically-supported therapies, determined by and tailored to the needs and goals of each unique individual. My approach is based on contemporary behavior therapies and is generally experienced as caring, compassionate, and collaborative. Initial sessions usually involve an assessment of your concerns, gathering some life history, and clarifying your goals for therapy. I then share my understanding of the issues and my ideas for what would be most helpful, so we can develop a plan from there.

I specialize in treating:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Pain and health problems

  • Sleep issues

  • Relationship issues

  • Grief and loss

  • Stress and life transition

Couples Therapy

When working with couples, the intake process usually involves three sessions: one session with both partners together and one session with each partner separately. This allows for a thorough evaluation of the relationship issues and each person’s perspective and concerns. Throughout the process, I will share my understanding of the problems and desired goals. Balancing acceptance and change, it is my aim to help couples get unstuck from problematic patterns and develop a greater sense of satisfaction and connection.

Phone Consultation

The process of finding a therapist who is a good fit for your needs and situation can be challenging. It is important to me that you have help in finding answers to any questions you may have and help in gaining access to the appropriate resources. In an initial phone conversation, we would discuss your current needs and concerns, and determine the best course of action, whether that is scheduling an intake appointment with me, referring you to another therapist or health provider, or giving you other recommendations for next steps.
